2008 EWB-Great Lakes Regional Workshop Announcement

The 2008 EWB-Great Lakes Regional Workshop location has been selected: Champaign-Urbana, IL, University of Illinois. EWB-UIUC has been one of the most active student chapters in the region, and we are excited about their vision of the workshop.

The workshop is slated for this Fall 2008, but exact dates are still being finalized. If you wish to participate in the planning of the workshop, please contact president@ewb-greatlakes.org.

Want to Host Workshop ‘08?

To help in deciding where to have the next workshop we would like any chapter that is interested in hosting to send brief answers to the following questions to Daniel Atkins via email, treasurer@ewb-greatlakes.org:

1. Do you have facilities that can hold up to 200 people? Will these facilities allow for subgroups to split up?

2. Will logistics such as minor catering, travel, or lodging be a problem?

3. What goals would you have for the workshop?

4. What are some benefits of your chapter hosting the workshop?

5. If you attended the last workshop, what would you change to make it better? (It is not necessary to have attended the last workshop to host in 2008)

Also, please include your location, EWB Chapter, and contact info. We are hoping to have a host picked by the end of November. Please respond quickly.

Workshop next year

With the successful completion of the 2007 Great Lakes Regional Workshop, we are looking for an EWB chapter host for next year. We have already had several requests to host, so please contact John Glassmire if you are interested.

The 2008 Great Lakes Regional Workshop will be in the Fall of 2008, and the host will be finalized by the end of 4th quarter 2007.
